Google to Acquire DoubleClick

Google announced on April 14, 2007 its ambitious plan to acquire DoubleClick for $3.1 billion in cash. The closing amount of the deal still remains uncertain as many companies, including Yahoo, AT&T and Microsoft, have said to examine the deal carefully. The representatives from Microsoft warned of a potential monopolistic effect, which provided industry observers and satirists with fodder given Microsoft’s own such actions. On 20th December, 2007, the FTC accepted Google’s acquisition of DoubleClick.

The First Social Site for all Online Gamers has been recently released by Gamer Blogs and the name is CharacterPlanet.The system was developed by CharacterPlanet in order to address a need for gamers to easily express themselves to the online gaming community. Gamer Blogs is a system where any member can create their own blog, give it a name with a unique URL, and start posting entries immediately. Members can even add their google adsense code and make some real money off the popularity of their blog. The system also allows members to vote on entries which will give the entire Blog an overall score as well.
