Plans by Microsoft towards Internet Business

Initially Microsoft was planning to take over yahoo offer for its advertising and internet searching. Now it has decided to go on its own and have an individual identity. A week ago they had withdrawn yahoo’s bid of $47.5 billion. This withdrawal have left several analysts wonder as to how Microsoft will grow its share levels in the dollar market. Now they have to think of implementing a new strategy in competence to the well established internet business by Google in the market. Currently Microsoft is left with only 10 percent of the U.S. Internet searches with Google occupying 58 percent and yahoo about 22percent. They need to adapt new strategies to grow in advertising and internet search business other than Software. The Chairman, Bill Gates is planning to resign his chairmanship this July and work on part time basis on both software and on global health and development issues.
