Google to Acquire DoubleClick

Google announced on April 14, 2007 its ambitious plan to acquire DoubleClick for $3.1 billion in cash. The closing amount of the deal still remains uncertain as many companies, including Yahoo, AT&T and Microsoft, have said to examine the deal carefully. The representatives from Microsoft warned of a potential monopolistic effect, which provided industry observers and satirists with fodder given Microsoft’s own such actions. On 20th December, 2007, the FTC accepted Google’s acquisition of DoubleClick.
