ECI Telecom’s Broadband Access Platform Ranked #1 DSLAM platform

Superior performance and advanced features recognized as leading selling points to top carriers worldwide

ECI Telecom today announced that Current Analysis, a leading independent research firm, has ranked ECI’s Hi-FOCuSTM 5 as the top DSLAM broadband access platform based on five major buying criteria: scalability, standards, capacity, QoS support and pricing.

“ECI Telecom’s Hi-FOCuS 5 solution set provides operators with a comprehensive wireline broadband access portfolio that enables multi-play service delivery from virtually any point in the access network,” said Erik M. Keith, Senior Analyst for Broadband Infrastructure at Current Analysis. “In our analysis of DSLAMs designed for central office deployments, ECI’s Hi-FOCuS 5 platform finished first overall based on its high scores in five key buying criteria categories. Most notable was the very high per-chassis and per-slot throughput capacity, which gives ECI a critical differentiator over rival solutions in this extremely competitive sector.”

The Hi-FOCuS-5’s support of 128 Gbps of throughput per chassis was recognized as the highest in this market.

The versatile Hi-FOCuS 5 multi-service platform allows service providers to easily and cost-effectively offer bandwidth-intensive, triple play services including IPTV. The recent expansion of the Hi-FOCuS 5 platform allows for FTTx deployments and enables providers to leverage their existing infrastructure to deliver advanced services.

“We are honoured to have our Hi-FOCuS 5 broadband multi-service platform recognized as the leading DSLAM in the world, underscoring the technological edge of our products,” said Dan Eisner, Executive Vice President and General Manager of ECI Telecom’s Broadband Access Division. “We’ve developed the Hi-FOCuS portfolio to provide customers with the most competitive and cost-effective features in the industry. Our innovative products continue to strengthen ECI’s position in the global DSLAM market where we have worldwide deployments with several Tier One operators.”
